Springtime Brings The Need to Grill and Yard Cleanup…oh and Taxes

January 23, 2008

What better time of the year than Spring (oh Fall is truly the best, but i needed a lead in line for this blog post). With the coming of Spring we have many things to look forward too, filing our taxes, cleaning up the yard, and getting the grill ready for summer BBQs. Those are just a few of the many tasks that need to be done in the Spring.

I am going to list a few coupons from Coupon Chief I’ve located to help out and save a little cash for you.

Turbo TaxAnyone else already start filing their 2007 Income Taxes? Well I did. Of course I’m using Turbo Tax again this year to make things much simpler. This year you can even do your taxes for Free with TurboTax. I’ve been using Turbo Tax for about 8 years now and never had an issue with it. Every year the product improves and walks you through more and more tax questions to better your tax return. I like the fact that Turbo Tax gives you accurate values for your charitable donations! My wife and I typically donate to a handful of different organizations through the year. You can now keep track of all of this by using ItsDeductible which is built in and accessible from Turbo Tax.

Cooking.comWho Loves To Grill? Well just about every Dad out there probably. Is it the smell of the barbeque that we all love, or is it the sense of freedom we have when standing solo by the grill for a little quiet escape from the kids screaming inside? Here is another coupon to help you track down some outdoor cooking gadgets or supplies before the summer gets here! While you’re at it pick up this grilling set for less than $30!

15% Off on all - clad barbecue tool set with carrying case

Springhill NurseryOk and one last coupon for tonight — goes to the gardener out there.  Shop at  Springhill Nursery and use this coupon for $20 off orders of $50 or more
The more you save, the more you can buy for your garden.  I think we’re going to lessen our vegetable garden just a bit this year and concentrate more on our herb garden since our basil plants grew like mad!

Here’s a little cross promotion on my part but I hope you will visit some of my other blogs!

Do you enjoy to cook? Do you need help making great meals for dinner parties? My wife and I began a site a year ago called Cooking Up Friends that first started out to promote fast, simple dishes for the working parents. I quickly turned into something more and now we’re adding recipes to the blog every month. If you have a great recipe and would like to share it please visit the Cooking Up Friends blog and contact me from that site! Thanks.

Hey parents! Another blog site I run is called Daddy’s Toolbox where I write posts about my experiences with raising my two children, 3yr and 1 yr old.  It’s fun, it’s entertaining and hopefully you’ll get some much needed stress relief yourself by reading the blog.  It’s a good way for me to release some of the stress I have when kids are whining, sick, or having a meltdown.   Go visit DaddysToolbox.com

The Police Highest Grossing Tour Of 2007 in North America

January 2, 2008

Over at MOG (check out the site) Charley Rogulewski  blogged about The Police being the highest grossing tour of 2007. That’s awesome! What’s not awesome is that I was NOT able to go to a show. I  was hoping to see them in Philly and Hershey, PA but timing wasn’t just wasn’t good.

Overall the rock trio grossed over $212 million (in 54 shows in North America) in 2007, almost doubling the other reunion tour by Genesis, grossing $129 million (in 46 shows). Now if you were Sting, how would you spend your earnings?

The Police

I was able to grab a few torrents of different legs of the tour from DIME.
