Keeping up on Tech, Tunes, and much More!

Fly Ealges Fly! But PLEASE No More Throw Back Jerseys!

September 23, 2007

McNabb (AP Photo/Rusty Kennedy)Well whatta ya know!? The Birds pulled off a win! But wait…do you think it was the throw back jerseys that helped out? Oh God Help Us if that’s the case! I’m not a fan of any throw back jerseys and after having to see the powder blue and yellow jerseys today, blech!!

Guess Andy Reid pulled out the oil can and greased up the rusty old tin man before game time! Thanks Andy!!

But way to go guys! Seems like the team was firing on all pistons today. Earlier this week all the news stories focusing on McNabb and poor team stats should probably be nullified on Monday morning talk radio with callers/listening hopping back on the Eagles Bandwagon and cheering on their Superbowl Bound team! C’mon, you KNOW that is what many people are going to say after a 56-21 trounching of a half-decent Detroit team!

Donovan was stellar in today’s game, shattering his combined first two weeks of stats and at one point completing 18 straight passes!

McNabb’s Stats

Prev Weeks This Week
Comp % 54.4 80.8
Pass Yds 424 381
TDs 1 4
Passer Rating 68.8 158.3

More good news…we got to see Rookie Kevin Kolb have a few reps in the 4th quarter. I think that is a good thing. Let’s get him some game experience and see how he shakes out and get used to the rythym. Who knows what will happen in the next few weeks. Let’s just hope McNabb stays healthy and greased up, Westbrook continues to be a mutli-level attack machine, Curtis and the other receivers continue to catch passes and the defense’s secondary can get patched up!

Game notes From ESPN.com

Curtis surpassed his career-best 105 yards receiving in just the first quarter, getting 132. … The teams had 63 points and 763 total yards in the first half. … Eagles LT William Thomas has a mild knee strain and All-Pro G Shawn Andrews briefly left after getting poked in the eye. … Trent Cole had three of Philly’s sacks.
