Cathy and I visited Athens, Greece on our honeymoon in September 2002. I tried to get a great shot of the Parthenon without many tourists in the shot.

Hey I just learned about this great acoustic music podcast, and best of all they are all LIVE! I’m a lover of live concerts for over 10 years collecting way too many cassette tapes cds torrents to count! But now I can download a few acoustic podcasts and give them a listen while I work/walk/whatever.
The podcast is from Acoustic Long Island (http://www.acousticlongisland.com/). The live podcasts occur every Wednesday night from the living room of a historic 19th century mansion in St. James, Long Island, NY. The sound quality is amazing and the singer/songwriters interact with the crown in a very close and intimate setting.
Tonight I’m listening to two shows:
Mieka Pauley - June 20th & David Berkeley - May 16th
make that three! give a listen to Patrick Fitzsimmons on May 23rd, good stuff!
I would give David’s show a listen. He’s got a laid back, mellow voice that is great music to listen to.
I couldn’t make this any easier…click the image to subscribe to the podcast!
This might be my favorite meteorologist! Once you watch this video how could you enjoy any other common weather report!?
I stumbled across this pretty cool sounding web site earlier today. It’s called Shoeboxed.com. Basically it helps manage and track all of your online or physical receipts in one place, a “virtual shoebox”. This is great news as we can now reclaim one of the drawers in our kitchen where we have been stuffing receipts!
Wow, the COOL thing about this service is I will be able to pull up a receipt (if needed) from home, work, while on vacation…anywhere!
Not convinced that this might help you? Think about this, my parents had a house fire in June 2007 that destroyed everything. They are still in the process of dealing with their insurance provider, USAA, on content. They spent the better part of 3 weeks thinking of everything they owned and had to give an estimated cost and how long the item was owned. Image if ALL of this information was readily available online! Click click click, print! voila!!
If you needed to know if ShoeBoxed will also manage printed store receipts the answer from their FAQs is:
Yes! Take a digital photo of your receipts, or scan them into your computer. Then you can use the simple Shoeboxed Receipt Uploader which will automatically add these receipts to your Shoeboxed account.
So give them a look if you are like us and like to track receipts and not have them lost, or worse yet, thrown away!
I found this article to be very useful and will certainly give it a try the next time i want NO TOURISTS in my photos. I actually did something similar on a picture of the Taj Mahal that my wife took while on a business trip to India.
I used Adobe Photoshop to paint over the people the best I could. One good thing was that she took the photo a good distance from the Taj Mahal therefore it was pretty simple to select the color of the sky (BRIGHT BLUE DAY) and just paint over the tiny heads of people.
Anyway, this guys article gives a different approach to obtaining “tourist free photos”.
Every notable landmark seems to have one thing in common: visitors, and lots of them. But if you want that postcard shot or that image that shows how the location may have once appeared, you have a challenge ahead of you. This digital photography and PhotoShop tutorial will provide a means to remove the tourist throngs from your vacation images.
I came across a link that sounded kinda cool and when I investigated it a little more, it was!! This new web app is called TimeBridge and can syncronize your Outlook or Google calendar between you (consultant) and other business contacts! How nice is that!?!
The article I read was on TechCrunch.com, give it a read to learn more! I think I’ll set this up to try it out as well.
TimeBridge: Now Synching Your Meetings Through The Web
Ok cool! I’ve been looking for a way to allow our new notebook computer to connect and sync up with my iTunes folder on my office desktop. Well guess this article pretty much explains things.
It may seem a little tricky for those of you that are not that computer savvy.
